To help your understanding of Micro-credentials, we have provided a short summary below:

• Micro-credentials are short, flexible learning units designed to develop specific skills or competencies relevant to roles or sectors.
• They are smaller than traditional qualifications, with clearly defined outcomes and can be delivered online, blended, or in-person.
• They are often used to support upskilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning, particularly for working adults.
• They can be standalone or “stackable”, meaning they may contribute towards larger qualifications and can sometimes align to RQF levels or higher education credits.
• They are delivered by a range of providers, including universities, colleges, training organisations, and employers, often in partnership with industry.
• They may be accredited, quality-assured, or employer-endorsed, with varying levels of formal recognition.
